Your Dorm Room
We have fantastic dorm rooms. Other residential colleges like to say that what they lack in living conditions, they make up for in spirit!... but as Wiess has more spirit than any of the other's, this simply isn't possible!

All dorms at Wiess are suite-style living - meaning that aside from the actual rooms with beds, there is a common room and a bathroom shared between members of the suite. The majority of dorms at Wiess come in two four-person varieties - Singles and Doubles. Doubles, typically inhabited by freshmen and sophomores who manage to get on campus living, have 2 rooms of about 20 ft x 10 ft. Singles have 4 rooms approximately 10ft x 10ft. They are coveted by the upperclassmen - the good news is that in the past only 1 room's worth of juniors has had to live in doubles.

There are two other styles of rooms that Wiess has: the 3-mans, and the 5-man. The 3-man is 3 singles with the normal accommodations. The 5-man has 3-singles and 1 double - that being said, at new Wiess the 5-man has already gained some grand traditions.

As far as general description goes:
  • Almost all suites have a linolium / coated floor in the common room and carpet in the actual rooms.
  • The bathrooms have a shower, a toilet, two sinks and a large mirror.
  • 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports per student. Only one is activated at the beginning of the school year. There's also a Gigabit port in the common room.
  • A standard phone jack for free local calls and calls in between rooms.
  • Cable Jack in the common room.

The Movie Room
The movie room is a wonderful place to watch films during the day...or morning...or night. The windows of the Movie Room are blacked out in order to make the 60" Viewing screen shine in all its glory at all times of the day. The room sits 30ish people on a variety of couches that are blocked in a pseudo-stadium seating arrangement. All-in-all, it's a fantastic setup that can take the bite out of a rainy day

The Dance Room
One of the most unique rooms located at our residential college, the dance room sports a proper floor and full wall mirror, as well as a sound system. We put it to good use - you'll often see the various student organizations (Wiess Tabletop, Bhangra, etc.) practicing their various productions.

The Game Room
Currently being used for storage, legend has it that there is a DDR machine and a pool table in this room. Check it out!

The Computer Lab
Located on the third floor under the Movie Room, the Computer lab hosts several computers for paper writing, form pringing, MATLAB calculating, and Youtube-watching.

The Kitchens
We have two kitchens at Wiess that can be used for cooking whatever you'd like, whether it's that Saturday dinner or the surprise birthday cake for your suitemate. There are two Kitchens - 2nd floor and 3rd floor. The 3rd floor kitchen is more properly a kitchen - whereas the 2nd floor kitchen can be found most active on Thursday nights.

The Private Dining Room
The Private Dining Room (PDR for short) is a formal-ish dining room that Wiessmen typically utilize for meetings which require either a bit more space or a bit more privacy than the Commons allows. Many interviews are conducted in this bastion of historical Wiess relics.
