NOD stands for "Night of Decadence" and is Wiess's rather infamous annual themed costume party. NOD is known for ... decadence. Nakedness, drinking, an amusing, if not incredible, time for both onlookers and partiers alike - pretty much every part of a protective parent's worse nightmare. Maybe that's why it was actually ranked in Playboy's Top Ten Parties nationally at one point of time.
That doesn't mean you should fear NOD - it's part of the Wiess experience, and you don't have to be a part of it. If you don't want to be part of the wild part of NOD, you can simply be an onlooker in the form of security (we keep everyone safe) or just hanging around your room, overlooking the Acabowl. Working Security is usually a good way to start off your four years at Wiess if you're not entirely comfortable with the idea of decadence - I enjoyed it last year. There are many people who will swear that attending it is the only way to go. Hat's off to them! But I'll keep mine on, thanks.
An old NOD site with more information still stands here .
