Here you can learn about all the fun Wiess festivities you'll be partaking in!

NOD
NOD, or Night of Decadence, is most definitely the most infamous party on and off of Rice University's campus. Wiess goes all out in decadent style, fitted to whatever theme Wiessmen have chosen. Current themes have taken to having NOD in the title, but this was not so in many of the years past (see NOD Names for a completely listing of NOD Themes). More important than anything else, NOD can be said to be the safest party on campus - there is more attention paid to ensuring that everyone maintains a safe experience here than possibly any other party on campus. See the more indepth site with announcements and sign-ups!

Wiess Tabletop
Wiess Tabletop is one of Wiess' longest standing and deep seated traditions. Production of high quality theatrical performances, performed in the best settings as the Commons could provide, Wiess Tabletop has managed to pull off some fantastic productions in the past few years, including the most recent production of "Hello, Hamlet!". Wiess Tabletop is one of the heavy hitters for oncampus theatre - we have a lot of resources and we are proud of how we put them to use. It is not unusual to see Dr. Dodds, Senior Associate, and BC, Resident Associate, supervising the construction of the stages on Sunday afternoons. The current Tabletop representatives are Roque Sanchez and Jacob Pflug - they make most major decisions as to the direction of Wiess Tabletop. There's plenty to do - talk to them!

Pumpkin Caroling
Pumpkin Caroling is one of the more unique activities that Wiess College does every Halloween. It involves walking around the entirety of Rice University singing/screaming/yodeling "Pumpkin Carols" at the top of our lungs. Fondren Library is always extremely appreciative of this display.

Baker 13 Defense Force
Baker 13 Defense Force is Wiess' answer to the shaving cream clad bodies that run yelling through the acabowl on the 13th and 31st of everymonth (the 26th on 30-day months). Arming ourselves with water balloons, trashcans, water hoses, and suicide bucket-runners, we mount a fun-loving, water-filled defense against the naughty invaders. We enjoy it, the Baker 13 runners respect it (we make sure we don't hurt them, just embarass them!), and it's an all-round good time. Join TODAY!

Jamfest
Jamfest is a Wiess-organized, Wiess-hosted concert that brings a ton of fun to the Acabowl every year in the spring. Bands from around Rice audition to get a timeslot to show their skills.

DOME party
As legend has it, the first DOME party was started when a 4th floor room of girls wrote "DO ME" too close on their window. It turned into a party, and has been celebrated every year since!

Big Bang
Wiess throws a party for the freshmen class as a congratulations for surviving the first wave of exams and assignments. It's an opportunity to relax with a variety of games, dancing and, of course, goldenrod T-shirts.
